On October 9th, the Zhongman Kazakhstan Tenge Oilfield Gas-Fired Power Generation Project was officially commissioned and connected to the grid. This marked Tenge Oilfield’s achievement as an independent power supply, taking a key step towards energy conservation, consumption reduction, and green development.
Since its approval in 2023, the project has gone through four stages including feasibility study, design, construction, and commissioning. It completed trial operation at the end of 2024 and successfully obtained the emission permit from the Kazakhstan Ministry of Energy at the end of September 2025. Equipped with six gas-fired generator sets with a total installed capacity of 4.2 megawatts, the Tenge Gas-Fired Power Station can fully meet the production and domestic electricity needs of the Tenge Oil Production Management Area.
The Gas-fired Power Generation Project fully utilizes the associated gas resources of the oilfield, turning waste into treasure and realizing comprehensive and circular utilization of energy. After commissioning, the project not only effectively reduces the cost of purchased electricity and carbon emissions, but also improves the oilfield's energy security capacity and operational safety level. It is estimated that, in 2026, the project can save about 20.406 million kilowatt-hours of electricity expenditure for the Tenge Oilfield, achieving significant economic and social benefits.
The successful commissioning of the Tenge Oilfield Gas-Fired Power Generation Project is an important achievement of the Zhongman Group in actively practicing the strategy of "Green Oilfield, Low-Carbon Development", and has also accumulated valuable experience for the company in promoting clean energy utilization in overseas oil and gas blocks.
