On December 30, the results of the 2025 Evaluation and Certification for Shanghai Municipal Enterprise Technology Centers were officially released. Zhongman Petroleum (ZPEC) was among the 833 listed enterprises. This marks the fourth time that ZPEC has passed the certification since 2018, testifying to the consistent recognition of the Company by all sectors of society in terms of investment in technological innovation, R&D capability, and technical competence.

ZPEC’s Municipal Enterprise Technology Center first passed the joint review conducted by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Finance, the Shanghai Municipal Tax Service, Shanghai Customs, and other authorities in 2018, and was recognized as a member of the 24th batch of Shanghai Municipal Enterprise Technology Centers. Since then, a biennial evaluation and review has been carried out on the accredited municipal enterprise technology centers. For those enterprises with outstanding performance, further support will be provided in terms of innovation investment, and policy incentives.

In recent years, with intelligent drilling and smart oilfields as its core objective, ZPEC has built an R&D model integrating independent R&D, technology introduction, collaborative research, integrated innovation, as well as absorption, digestion, and re-innovation of imported technologies. This model covers multiple fields including exploration and production, drilling engineering, intelligent manufacturing, downhole tools, and application software, enabling the enterprise to achieve a sound end-to-end development cycle from theoretical research, technology development, and product manufacturing to application and promotion. In countries and regions along the Belt and Road, ZPEC boasts distinctive technical advantages in exploration and production, drilling engineering, equipment manufacturing, and oilfield services. Its strengths include: specialized drilling technologies for deep/ultra-deep wells, extended-reach horizontal wells, and drilling in polar swamp environments; manufacturing expertise in intelligent oil and gas equipment such as the “Jinpeng” Intelligent Drilling Robot, the “Danko” Five-cylinder Mud Pump, the TDS Series Top Drives, and the ZMO R350 Offline Drilling Rigs; cost advantages in the exploration and production of 7 oil and gas equity blocks across 4 countries at home and abroad as a private enterprise; and full-industry-chain technical services for oilfields. These strengths have established a solid geological-engineering integrated technical barrier, providing robust technical support for oil and gas exploration and production in Belt and Road regions.
