On November 9, 2021, Sergei, the Project Manager of ZPEC Puer Project, sent a Letter of Thanks from the remote area of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region to Shanghai to Mr. Li Chundi, the Chairman of ZPEC. In the letter, he reported his work and growth history since joining ZPEC in 2017 and expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Li and ZPEC for giving him a growth platform.

After joining the ZPEC Yamal-Nenets Project, Sergei embarked on a significant work journey in this icy and snowy area known as “the end of the world”. At the beginning of the project, ten foreign employees, including Sergei, were invited to China and participated in the commissioning work of the ZJ40DB Cryogenic Drilling Rig at the rig yard. Through exchanges with Chinese experts, they improved their skills, accumulated experience, and deepened their friendship with the Chinese employees. During their spare time, the company also took them to visit Shanghai. They experienced the folk culture of old Shanghai at the Chenghuang Temple, boarded a cruise to appreciate the prosperity along the Huangpu River, and walked into Yuyuan Garden to experience the unique beauty of Chinese classical architecture and gardens.

The image of ZPEC drilling has been widely recognized in the Russian drilling industry”, Sergey wrote in the letter.

With nostalgia and touch all the way, as the platform manager, Sergei quickly devoted himself to the Yamal-Nenets Project with full enthusiasm. Under the guidance and help of experts from ZPEC, he led the Russian employees to repeatedly set records in the drilling operation.

While developing in Russia, ZPEC attaches great importance to the growth of foreign employees. In the following three years, with the support of Chinese personnel, Sergei’s team has not only withstood the test of the extreme cold in Siberia, but also overcome the COVID-19 epidemic. Everyone has done their best to stick to their posts, strictly abide by the various epidemic prevention regulations, and create the fastest record of brilliant performance under the same conditions in the block. In March 2020, Sergey was appointed as the Project Manager of ZPEC Puer Project.

At present, ZPEC has four projects in Russia, including Rosneft, Nord, and Novatek. During the operation of the projects, it actively promoted the policy of internationalization of talents and localization of labor, and currently provides more than 400 local jobs. In the management, it has always practiced a respectful, open, inclusive, and diverse multinational corporate culture. The fair and just selection and appointment of employees of different nationalities, races, genders, religious beliefs and cultural backgrounds are widely welcomed by local governments and employees. At the same time, the performance of exploration and development is also rising. In 2018, ZPEC achieved an output value of 1.8 billion rubles in the local area, in 2019 it grew to 3.5 billion rubles. Even in 2020, under the severe impact of the epidemic, the company still achieved rapid growth in local output value, reaching 4.5 billion rubles. With the net profit of about 400 million rubles, ZPEC is making outstanding contributions to local social development.
