On November 18, 2021, the Zubair Oilfield ZB-497 Well was drilled to a depth of 3,462 meters by ENI Project’s ZPEC Rig 27.  The annual total drilling footage of ZPEC Rig 27 exceeded  30,000 meters, marking a significant increase throughout the year. While speeding up and increasing efficiency, it has also made positive contributions to the production increase and development of the Zubair Oilfield.

Since the beginning of this year, all employees of ZPEC Rig 27 have strictly followed the relevant requirements of Party A and the company in order to achieve zero production accidents and zero infections. On the premise of ensuring safety, they upheld the spirit of ZPEC’s “Iron-blood Journey” while constantly reaping the benefits from safety and good management. They carefully organized drilling and production every month and were highly praised by Party A-ENI and Halliburton.  

In order to further strengthen the management of rig-move and installation operations, ZPEC Rig 27 formulated rig-move and installation and hoisting plans in advance, researched and made the relocation route, conducted on-site safety operation analysis, held on-site safety briefings, clarified the responsibilities of each post, put forward precautions for each key point, and implemented operational safety measures to ensure that all links were seamlessly connected. From January to November of this year, the equipment relocation of ZPEC Rig 27 repeatedly broke the record for the fastest rig-move in the Zubair Oilfield.

Since the spudding on January 13th this year, ZPEC Rig 27 has achieved good results in drilling 9 wells and handing over 8 wells in the Zubair Oilfield in Southern Iraq while continuously refreshing the record for the shortest drilling period in the Zubair Oilfield.
