The First Cluster Wells in Wensu Oilfield Put Into Production Gained High-yield Oilflow

2021-06-10

On June 9th, the exploration and development of the Wensu Block once again made an important breakthrough. ZPEC’s first cluster wells in Block-Wen 6 were completed and put into production. After the four exploration and appraisal wells were tested and put into production, they achieved high production with a maximum daily 62 ton crude oil output. So far, the daily output of crude oil in the Wensu Block has risen to 370 tons, which is close to the target of 400 tons/day.

The Wen 6 Cluster is the first cluster deployed by ZPEC in the Wensu Oilfield. It is of great significance to the future development method and direction of the Wenbei Field. Among the four newly added exploration and appraisal wells, completion layer of Wen 6-2 and Wen 6-3 Wells  is in the third section of the Jidike Formation and the completion layer of Wen 6-4 and Well 6-5 Wells is in the Proterozoic buried hill formation. The success of these four wells provided data support for the evaluation of reservoir distribution and hydrocarbon-bearing properties of Jidike Formation in the Wen 6 Fault Block and has laid a good foundation for future exploration and development deployment in the F1 Fault Zone. The successful operation of Wen 6 Cluster has fully demonstrated ZPEC’s integration advantages.

In addition to the Wen 6 Cluster, another cluster including Wen 8, Wen 10, Wen 11, and Wen 19 will also be put into production within one month.  By then, the total daily output of crude oil in the Wensu Oilfield is expected to exceed 500 tons and the exploration and development process of the Wensu Oilfield will also open a new chapter for ZPEC.
