"ZPEC Successfully Completed Its Second Well in Russian Swamp Region."

On June 2, ZPEC successfully completed its second well in the swamp region of the Yamar-Neitz Peninsula in Russia.

It is reported that the current swamp area drilling project is not the first project that ZPEC cooperated with Novatek. Two years ago, ZPEC signed a drilling contract totaling about 38.46 million RMB, and earned the trust of Novatek with its excellent operation quality and faster drilling speed than other companies in the same block. Since then, ZPEC has since signed several drilling contracts with Novatek, including the three-well drilling contract in the swamp area.

The Yamar Region is rich in oil and gas resources in Russia, where it has 90% of Russian natural gas reserves and the oil and gas service market of this region has broad prospects and unlimited potential. At the same time, the region straddles the Arctic Circle, the winter is severe cold and extremely long, and swamps are everywhere in summer. Many oil fields are in such swamps. The roads to such blocks are closed for nearly half a year. "This requires us to plan ahead before drilling, and to transport enough drilling materials for five to six months into the well site before the roads’ snow and ice melt.  This is a big challenge to operational organization, logistics support, continuous productionand cost control. Mr. Ming Zhao said,  the GM of ZPEC Russian Company.

The CIVID-19 pandemic in Russia has been serious since March 2020 and the number of people is still increasing every day by more than 8,000. The employees on the well team live and eat together. Thus, doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control is the top priority and the basic prerequisite for ensuring the health of the personnel and the continuity of production.

Tthis end, ZPEC Russian Company has formulated strict pandemic prevention regulations and it is gratifying that there has not been a single case of infection among employees on the job site. ZPEC requires employees who return to work from other places to be quarantined at an isolation point in the city before entering the oil area. After the isolation, the nucleic acid test must be normal before the workers can go back to the well site. For temporary arrival personnel, such as the delivery drivers, etc., if not necessarythey are not allowed to get off the vehicles and absolutely forbidden to contact the well site personnel. These measures greatly reduce the risk of infection and ensure the health and safety of the site personnel. "ZPEC is an excellent drilling team with very good operational organization and first-class operation quality in the Novatek block," the representative at  the Novatek well site said.

ZPEC is the first Chinese private enterprise to enter Russia's extreme cold area to engage in drilling engineering services and it is also the first Chinese oil service company to conduct drilling operations in the Russian swamp area. As the only Chinese oil drilling team in Russia's Alpine Region, ZPEC has continuously refreshed the Russians' understanding of the Chinese drilling team with its own actions.
