Drilling Team 11 Continues to Set Records in Xinjiang’s Mahu Project

2020-09-28

On September 24th, the FNHW4092 Well, drilled by the ZPEC Drilling Team 11, successfully completed cementing. It was the first to achieve "four openings and four completions" among the four well teams of the Mahu Project in the Xinjiang Oilfield.  It was completed 100 days ahead of the 2019 wells with a total footage exceeding 16,224 meters.

The fourth well, FNHW4092, through a number of targeted technical improvements, achieved speed and efficiency improvements under the premise of ensuring safety. The well construction period was 34.7 days, including 3.5 days waiting for the equipment, which was still 17.3 days ahead of the designed schedule. Since ZPEC Team 11 moved to Mahu at the end of 2017, they have been working in this area for nearly 3 years. Under the severe and unfavorable conditions of the epidemic prevention and control situation at the beginning of the year, everyone firmly believed in "There is only a desolate desert and no desolate life". With the action of "continuously attacking, being tough, and creating benefits" as the carrier, they worked hard on the four-character formula of "strict, fast, excellent, and fine". The production efficiency was greatly improved, as expected. Compared with the same period last year, the Team scored 6,000 meters more and achieved contrarian growth. The team always adhered to the "three advances" construction principle, sorting out the material plan and equipment in advance to avoid the occurrence of waiting stops. By organizing personnel in advance to learn its speed-up template, the drilling engineering design and technical disclosure improved the execution ability of all employees in construction. While prejudging the risk factors that may exist underground, construction technical plans were formulated in a targeted manner, effectively improving the ability of the employees to deal with unexpected problems, while building a solid foundation for speed and efficiency.

During the construction, the team continuously optimized the production organization, strengthened the process connection, and effectively reduced the non-production timeliness. They strengthened technical management, combined with equipment performance, well drilling tools and formation reality, and comprehensively optimized technical parameters. Always adopting "one well, one case, one section, and one policy" to improve the pertinence of technical solutions and the effectiveness of measures. In the construction of the first three wells this year, the team set records of breaking a thousand meters per day and became the first team in the Mahu Block to reach 10,000 meters.

ZPEC Drilling Team 11 actively responded to the call of the company and project leaders, determined to take "six openings and six completions" as the goal, took root in Xinjiang, and carefully constructed and created great glories!
