One More ZPEC Drilling Team Spuds in Tenge Oilfield Kazakhstan

2023-07-11

At 7:00am on July 6, Western Kazakhstan time, amidst the sound of roaring engines, Well 420, the first well to be drilled in Tenge Oilfield by ZPEC Rig 11, spudded successfully. Competing with ZPEC Rig 7 and Rig 38, each team aims at the key nodes in production, competes to learn from each other, and catches up with each other, setting off a new round of upsurge in production in the Tenge Oilfield.

The drilling rigs of ZPEC Rig 11 began to be loaded in Xinjiang and shipped to Kazakhstan on May 6, 2023. Due to the long-distance customs clearance, the transportation work was complicated. The Group Company, Kazakhstan Branch Project, Logistics, and other departments worked together from the beginning to coordinate and to solve the problems that were expected to be encountered. It only took 49 days and all of the equipment arrived at the Well 420 site on June 24th. During the relocation and installation period, ZPEC Rig 11 overcame difficulties such as high temperatures, heavy sandstorms, new employees needing guidance, and equipment rectification. It took only 25 days to reach the spud conditions and to pass the emergency, safety, well-control, and other units of the Kazakhstan Government, including the TOG spudding inspection.

2023 is the year of great development of the Tenge Oilfield. ZPEC Group mobilized 4 drilling rigs and 3 workover rigs to carry out drilling and workover drilling and completion operations in the oilfield. At present, in addition to ZPEC Rigs 7, 11, and 38, the equipment of ZPEC Rig 33 that was being transferred from Pakistan has also arrived at the well site. The Tenge Oilfield will soon see an upsurge in production capacity construction.
