ZPEC Iraq Rumaila Phase II Project Concluded Successfully

2023-06-29

At 4:20 a.m. on June 18, Iraq local time, Rumaila Oilfield’s Ru-561 Well was completed successfully by ZPEC Rig 26.  This marked the successful conclusion of the ZPEC Rumaila Phase II Drilling and Completion Project, winning the praise of Party A, while also accumulating valuable experience for subsequent projects.

Since July 2, 2021, when the first well of the Second-phase Contract was drilled in the Rumaila Oilfield, ZPEC Rig 26 and Rig 35 have overcome many tough difficulties, such as the scarcity of adjacent well data, complex geological conditions, and large horizontal displacement at the northern boundary of the Rumaila Oilfield. They strictly grasped the time allotted and organized the on-site construction to realize the seamless connection of each process, which ensured the solid progress of each work, and realized the safe, fast and efficient operation of each well.  Many records were successively created, such as the 1,227 meters displacement oil field record, the fastest inter-well moving record, and the fastest single well completion record. The Teams made themselves the veritable benchmark teams in the Rumaila Oilfield.

On December 10, 2020, ZPEC and BECL (Basra Energy Company Limited) signed a service contract for the Drilling and Completion Project of Rumaila Oilfield in Iraq. This is the second Drilling and Completion Service Contract which ZPEC was awarded. Relying on its solid comprehensive strength and outstanding operational performance in the first phase of the project, ZPEC stood out from many internationally renowned oil services companies. After winning the bid, ZPEC Rig 26 and Rig 35 successfully completed the contract for this phase.
