ZPEC Iraq Mud Logging Team Receives “Letter of Commendation” From BP

2023-04-10

Recently, Mr. Ahmed Shakir, the Drilling Director of Party A’s Office of the Iraqi BP Project, came to the new well site of ZPEC Rig 35 for inspection and guidance. Letters of Commendation were awarded to ZPEC Rig 35 Mud Logging Team, hoping that they would achieve even better results in the coming three contracts.

ZPEC Rig 35 started its drilling in July 2021 and, after a year and a half of intense work, the Mud Logging Team successfully completed the comprehensive mud logging service in February 2023 for all wells in the second phase of the contract. During the period, the Mud Logging personnel overcame the long-term high-intensity, high-pressure, and fast-paced working environment that was hindered by COVID 19. They successfully completed comprehensive mud logging services for 12 wells, escorting the safe production of the drilling team, and, at the same time, collected and sorted out valuable geological data for the Rumaila Oilfield.

As we all know, the Rumaila Oilfield, where the BP Project is located, has a relatively complex downhole geological structure. There are common characteristics of lost circulation, wellbore collapse, hydrogen sulfide, shallow oil and gas, and other complex formations. ZPEC Mud Logging overcame each difficulty, excellently completed the mud logging service time after time, and was highly recognized by Party A.
