Two New Wells in ZPEC Aksu Kekeya Oilfield Obtain High-yield Industrial Oil Flow

2023-03-14

On March 8, 2023, good news came from Well Hong 11-13 in Kekeya Oilfield of ZPEC Aksu Oilfield. The well obtained a high-yield industrial oil flow of 45 tons per day. This is another new breakthrough after the high-yield oil and gas flow obtained in Well Hong 11-10 in the Kekeya Oilfield this year and it also marks that the Cambrian buried hill carbonate formation in this area has opened new high-yield oil and gas opportunities.

Well Hong 11-10 was spudded-in on January 5, 2023, and completed on January 22nd with a depth of 2,340 meters. On February 14th, the oil test obtained high oil and gas production. On February 17th, the well realized self-pumping and the highest daily oil production from a 6mm nozzle was 89.93 tons.

After the high-yield oil and gas flow was obtained in Well Hong 11-10, the ZPEC Technical Team continued to dig deep into the formation potential. Through research and analysis, it was believed that the Cambrian buried hill carbonate rock corresponding to Hong 11-13 should also have the potential of a high oil and gas production layer. On March 7th, the company actively took measures to acidify the Cambrian buried hill carbonate rocks corresponding to Well Hong 11-13. Currently, the well has a daily oil production of 41 tons with 6mm nozzles.

According to Mr. Wu Chao, the Deputy Chief Geologist and Manager of the Geological Reservoir Department of ZPEC Oil and Gas Company, the high production of Hong 11-10 and Hong 11-13 wells in Kekeya Oilfield proved that the Cambrian buried hill carbonate rock has the potential of further exploration and production effects. This has opened up new opportunities in the production capacity construction of new wells in 2023, laying a solid foundation for the company to increase reserves and production.
