2022-09-02

On August 30, 2022, during the perforation operation of Well MJ-96 in Iraq’s Majnoon Oilfield, ZPEC Logging Team created the longest perforation section record with a perforated interval length of 289.8 meters and a pure perforation section of 205 meters. This also sets new records of perforation operation for ZPEC in Iraq.

MJ-96 Well is a depth of 3,022 meters, ZPEC Rig 18 Team was responsible for its drilling and completion operation.  The workover and completion operation of the well was started at 10:00pm on August 22 and was designed to open the production layer by means of oil tubing transmission perforation. Since the start of operations on August 24, ZPEC’s Logging Team had to overcome the shortage of on-site manpower caused by the epidemic. Side by side with ZPEC Rig 18 Team colleagues, they worked overtime under the high temperature conditions to catch up and make progress.

According to plan, they successively completed the key work processes including the installation and disassembly of the perforating gunthe loading of the explosive chargethe wireline depth calibrationcompression ignitionetc. In the gun throwing operation on August 30, a perforation firing rate of 100% was reached with excellent results. The landmark oil pipe transmission perforating operation was completed with high quality and the oil and gas display on site was good.

Since participating in the workover project in the Majnoon Oilfield, ZPEC Logging Team has achieved "Zero Accidents" and "Zero Errors" in the completed perforation operations of more than 50 wells with 100% perforation emissivity. Not only their skills, but also their highly responsible spirit, have won a good reputation and worthy praise many times by Party A.
