BP Project ZPEC Rig 26 Sets Record for Fastest Rig-move in Rumaila Oilfield

2021-11-16

At 6:30 in the morning on November 7, 2021, Iraq local time, the Ru-500 Well, drilled by ZPEC Rig 26 of the Iraq BP Project, was successfully completed and moved 8.4 kilometers away to the Ru-502 Well. It took 7.48 days for rig-moving and setting the record of the fastest rig-move since BP entered the Iraq Rumaila Oilfield. It was highly praised by Party A. At present, the new well was successfully spudded at 6:00pm local time on November 14, 2021.

The Rumaila Oilfield, managed by BP, has always been known for its high standards and strict requirements, especially in terms of hoisting operations and road transportation. With the strong support of the ZPEC Iraq Branch Company and the Logistics Departments of the project, ZPEC Rig 26 formulated a complete pre-moving safety training in advance, carefully summarized and analyzed the previous moving experience, and fully mobilized the initiative of each employee of the well team.  These rationally arranged and coordinated management activities greatly shortened the moving period and saved costs.

This safe and efficient operation was fully affirmed and praised by BP. Mr. Song Erhui, the Rig Manager of ZPEC Rig 26, said: “Every employee is the owner of the well team and the owner of ZPEC. We will continue to promote the spirit of "Iron-blood Journeyand contribute to the company's continued growth."
