2020-12-14

On December 10th, ZPEC and British Petroleum Corporation (BP) Iraq Branch signed a contract for the drilling and completion project of the Rumaila Oilfield in Iraq. This is the second drilling service contract signed between ZPEC and BP in Iraq. This contract will further enhance the company's comprehensive strength in the field of overseas drilling engineering and, at the same time, have a positive impact on the company's future operating results.

After BP launched the public bidding for drilling and completion projects, many well-known companies including some of the four major oil service companies participated in the bidding. With first-class comprehensive strength and performance, ZPEC won the bid in one fell swoop and signed a construction operation contract on December 10th. The entire construction period will be 18 months. The Rumaila Oil Field for this construction operation is located in Basra Province, southern Iraq, covering an area of 1,800 square kilometers. It is the sixth largest giant oil field in the world. Two powerful drilling teams, Team 26 and Team 35, will drill wells in this project.

BP is one of the largest petroleum and petrochemical companies in the world. On April 12th, 2018, ZPEC and BP Iraq Branch cooperated for the first time and signed a drilling service contract for the Rumaila Oilfield with value of approximately 382 million yuan. During the construction period, ZPEC broke various records in the oil field. The company’s technical strength and management capabilities were highly recognized by Party A’s BP. This cooperation again shows that ZPEC has taken another gratifying step on the road to enter the high-end oil service market.
