Grasp the Opportunity, Meet the Challenge - ZPEC Group’s 2017 Annual Work Meeting

On January 12, 2017, ZPEC’s 2017 Annual Work Meeting was held ceremoniously at the groups’ Lingang Base.  With a review of 2016’s achievements and 2017’s expectations, company confidence was strengthened and the determination to grasp the oil and gas market opportunities with first-class performance were laid out to promote the continuing sound and rapid development of ZPEC.
 
Staff from group headquarters, cadres from various branch companies, altogether 320 people,  attended the meeting.  Employees from Beijing, Chengdu, Dubai, Moscow and other branch locations as well as overseas project personnel such as in Iraq and Egypt also attended via synchronized video.
 
Group Management, Finance, Procurement Logistics, and HSE Management respectively reported their successes achieved in 2016 and the work needed to be done in 2017.
 
Then, Group Manager Shi Shuyi introduced the meeting theme of "innovation work promoting development, great endeavors, making unremitting efforts to improve the company's profitability".  He said that 2016 was a big year for the company's reform and innovation, and also a year of great breakthrough in adversity.  During the downturn period of the international oil and gas industry, the company's full-year revenue, market development, and profit level exceeded expectations and ushered in the new opportunity for the development of the company.  The reason that ZPEC made such progress relied on the correct decisions of the company’s leadership and of the staff’s dedication. Director Shi Shuyi summarized the company’s 2016 work from 12 aspects, including: domestic and overseas project operation, marketing, systematic management innovation, talent cultivation, improved technology research and development capaabilities, etc.  These prominent achievements were highly praised.  In Shi Shuyi’s opinion, he said that with 2017’s slow recovery of the oil and gas industry, the year would be full of hope and joy, but that all must firmly grasp the opportunity and be creative.  On the premise of good existing engineering project contracts, the company would actively strive for more long-term work to ensure that the company has long-term, stable, and sustainable profitability.  In order to ensure the implementation of the annual task goals, project management and market development should be the focus. He hopes the group’s equipment manufacturing plant will expand and increase its manufacturing capabilities, thus improving the group's integration advantages.  Finally, Mr. Shi emphasized the need for strengthening the enterprise culture and improving service levels, in order to maintain and show the company’s good global image.
 
In the end, Group Chairman Li Chundi delivered an important speech, by his own experience and feeling, which taught everyone how to "bring team drilling wells".  Being decent, dedicated, having a thirst for knowledge, and staying open-minded are the good qualities for choosing leadership. Establishing a strong, long-term mechanism for personnel recruitment and training is needed to break through the bottleneck. He also shared his management secret with leaders, from the principles of dealing with people and studying oil and gas industry direction to culture and life, and to caring staff, is the trip to "ZPEC culture".  He was very thought-provoking and inspiring.
 
The conference highlighted 2016’s advances and commended exceptional individuals, which once again demonstrated respect for talent, advocating ZPEC’s advanced enterprise culture.  Before the meeting started a television documentary, "2016, The Footsteps of ZPEC ", was shown in which ZPEC’s oilman in domestic and foreign markets demonstrated their strength in overcoming challenges, while delivering inspiration and kindness.
