To a drilling rig manufacturer, the polar rig manufacturing with special material and technical requirements is new challenge, recently, ZPEC invited Russian specialists to give us a lecture course, it significantly left valuable knowledge to our design and development colleagues.

The 8 days course started from October 23. Five experts, are recognized people focusing on polar low-temperature drilling rig, are from Russian Bauman National Technology University, Russian Steel and Alloy Research Institute and Russian petroleum companies. The lessons of course included “Drilling Rig Structure under Russian Geological Environment” “Application of New Product and Technology of Mechanical Equipment” “Low Temperature Steel” etc. With the detailed preparation, Russian experts’ wonderful lectures deeply attracted our employees to learn, many students still asked questions even during break time, with such a nice studying atmosphere, Russian specialists gave us their most advanced knowledge about polar rig.

With the training, our staffs gradually understand what special steel can be applied in environment with minus 45 Centigrade, and how to maintain important equipments etc. Mr. Grigoriev M. A, the general engineer of a Russian company, said that ZPEC put so many efforts on polar low-temperature rig, it also means ZPEC will go ahead than others in this area.
