On the afternoon of Nov. 12, a newly modified rig containing many high-tech innovations was rigged up successfully at the ZPEC Shanghai Factory.  Nine utility model patents have been applied for and it has already been recognized as one of the most advanced modified rigs in the world, now known as the Daqing II.

The chief designer of the rig modified it from an original design known as the Daqing I and applied many fine ideas from the technicians including a modular design with more interchangeability and a lower cost of moving. 

This rig has three distinct and competitive advantages compared with other companies’ rigs: lower cost, faster moving, greater capacity for future upgrading and modification.  Firstly, using the new Daqing II rig hoisting and transmission system reduces the modified cost; capacity for upgrading/changing the drawworks to be electric and remove transmission system save significant time and cost; more importantly, the rig was set with integrated wheeled movement function, so long distance integrated moving is especially beneficial and profitable for cluster well drilling.

These new technology improvements will further help ZPEC within the international market.
